Pacquiao and Clottey boast a combined record of 85-6-2 (59 KOs) -- a winning percentage of 91% and a victory by knockout ratio of nearly 70%. Tickets to Pacquiao vs. Clottey go on sale This Saturday! Tickets can also be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com . “I have wanted to bring a major boxing event to North Texas for many years, so why not bring in the biggest and the best?” asked Jones. “Manny Pacquiao is boxing’s No. 1 pound for pound attraction and the world champion. Manny’s title defense against Joshua Clottey is not just a great fight, it is THE EVENT, and one we can showcase to the fullest in Cowboys Stadium. We’re going to promote this like it was the Super Bowl. This will be the fight to remember.” Cowboys Stadium will be configured for over 40,000 fans for THE EVENT with elevated floor seating similar to NBA games. “Jerry Jones knows exactly how big and important THE EVENT is, which is why it was so easy to put this deal together,” said Arum. “As a lifelong Giants fan I had to receive special dispensation from Steve Tisch, the Giants’ Chairman and Executive Vice President, to bring this event to Cowboys Stadium and he blessed the deal. If Jerry could sell me on Cowboys Stadium and the North Texas market, you know he is going to have no problems selling out Cowboys Stadium on March 13. We are ready to roll up our sleeves and promote Manny’s debut as World Welterweight Champion. Manny Pacquiao is the Lone Star of boxing. There isn’t a more appropriate place in the world for him to fight! Like Yankee Stadium, when it hosted so many great world title fights, including Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson and Ali, I feel a new era in boxing is about to begin at Cowboys Stadium.” Pacquiao (50-3-2, 38 KOs), of General Santos City, Philippines, will be defending the World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title he earned in his last fight, produced by a 12th round knockout of three-time world champion Miguel Cotto. Pacquiao’s victory made him the first man to win seven titles in as many different weight divisions, with his last three world championships coming by way of knockout.

Twilight Saga: Eclipse Goes IMAX

Twilight Saga: EclipseSummit Entertainment has announced The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will be released in both conventional theaters and in IMAX on June 30, 2010. While the film was shot with regular cameras, IMAX is going to digitally re-master the movie with their proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology so it can be shown in IMAX theaters. With the huge money The Twilight Saga has been making at theaters, it’s no surprise everyone wants it in IMAX. This way, theater owners can charge more for tickets and everyone involved can make more money. It’s just unfortunate they didn’t film any of the movie using IMAX cameras when it was in production. Of course, with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn still to be shot, perhaps the final chapter will be a real IMAX release and Twilight fans will be able to see Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner fill the whole screen.IMAX Corporation (NASDAQ: IMAX; TSX: IMX) and Summit Entertainment announced today that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the third film in the studio’s Twilight franchise, will be released to IMAX® theatres simultaneously with the film’s launch on June 30, 2010. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will be digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie. The film franchise is based on the book series by Stephenie Meyer.

Warner will release Deathly Hollows in 2010!

Harry Potter and the Deathly HallowsThe final chapter of the Harry Potter film series begins as Harry, Ron and Hermione leave Hogwarts behind and set out to find and destroy the Horcruxes--the secret to Voldemort's power and immortality. It is truly amazing that the production and director all agreed to split the last Harry Potter 7, in two parts! Not surprising in the least, because honestly the storyline is quite packed and the previous films were starting to get longer and longer and the spectator in their cinema chairs who have had the exact same add-on well....when it's dark and comfortable, nature takes over. Missing one of the greatest literature and film masterpieces combined into one is really on nobody's to do list, and that is how we ended up with 2 parts. Watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Pacquiao to fight Clottey at Cowboys Stadium

pacquiao vs clotteyFilipino superstar Manny Pacquiao will take on Ghana's Joshua Clottey at Cowboys Stadium, the billion-dollar state-of-the-art home of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys, promoters said Sunday. Promoter Bob Arum and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones announced the deal a day after Arum attended the Cowboys' NFL playoff victory over Philadelphia at the stadium on Saturday night. Jones had put the facility forward as a venue for the anticipated fight March 13 between Manny Pacquiao and unbeaten American Floyd Mayweather. That super-fight fell through last week over a disagreement on the drug testing protocol, and Arum lined up Pacquiao vs Clottey for World Boxing Organization welterweight title defense. "Jerry Jones knows exactly how big and important this event is which is why it was so easy to put this deal together," Arum said. "If Jerry could sell me on Cowboys Stadium and the North Texas market, you know he is going to have no problems selling out Cowboys Stadium on March 13. "We are ready to roll up our sleeves and promote Manny’s debut as World Welterweight Champion. Manny Pacquiao is the lone star of boxing. There isn't a more appropriate place in the world for him to fight." Jones told ESPN.com he was thrilled to host a bout involving a fighter of Pacquaio's stature, regardless of his opponent, and even if the fight with Joshua Clottey won't be the mega money-spinner that Mayweather vs Pacquiao promised to be. "I never got into the NFL or bought the Cowboys for the money," Jones told ESPN.com. "I was lucky enough to already have some. "This is about having a fighter like Manny and an event like this in our venue. When we finished the deal, I was shaking as much as I was when we beat the Eagles. I'm just as excited." The stadium won't be configured for maximum 100,000 seating capacity. They'll start out planning in the 40,000 seat range, but can increase that capacity if needed. "Manny defending his title against Joshua Clottey is not just a great fight, it's a great event, and one we can showcase to the fullest in Cowboys Stadium," Jones said. "We’re going to promote this like it was the Super Bowl." The hard-hitting Clottey, who lives in New York, is coming off a controversial split-decision loss to Puerto Rico's Miguel Cotto last June, a fight many thought Clottey won. Cotto was then pounded by Pacquiao in November in a fight stopped in the final round. The Mayweather vs Pacquiao bout, which had been tentatively scheduled for March 13 in Las Vegas fell apart over the issue of pre-fight anti-doping blood tests. Mayweather originally insisted they be conducted right up to the fight, while Pacquiao wanted a 30-day cut off before the bout. They were unable to reach a compromise.
