~3 little chicks~

I bought myself a mothers day gift today.
Did I tell you my husband went away on a guys weekend?
Who does that?
Anyway, I went to a few garage sales today, my usual Friday.
I found these little chicks~aren't they sweet?

So, I bought them for myself.
Three dollars.
I know, I splurged.
Went all out.

I though I deserved some $3 chicks since
I have to be alone all weekend....
and 3 chicks are better than 1 husband sometimes,
just sayin.
Then on my way home I thought~
why not stop and get a pedicure and a massage too?
I mean, since I only spent $3 on myself, what the heck?
Now back to reality.
Kids are out of school.
Husband is still gone.
House is a mess.
Oh, and I had a allergic reaction to salad I ate at Trader Joes.
I NEVER get allergic reactions!
But my eyes swelled shut pretty much and my face looked like it had a bad sunburn.
A few gulps of benadryl and I'm feeling a bit better.
Apparently I ramble on while on this drug......
sorry about that.
~See ya all tomorrow~

~Sussie Bell photography~

I just found this wonderful photographer.
Her photos make my heart beat a little faster. The colors in these photos are all so sweet and feminine.
I don't know what it is about pastels,
but I am drawn more and more to them these days.

I have also been sewing a lot lately and these pillows make me
want to jump in the car and head to the nearest fabric store!

I love this grouping of florals.

I spy a cute little banner in there,
I've been sewing up a bunch of those too!
I think they would be so fun strung up outside in the warmer months!

Pure perfection.....

The way she captures shots is amazing.

This photo looks like it's straight out of romantic homes magazine.

I love the detail in the simple things.

Love the use of the different hangers here
and the little hearts along with the lingerie.

More florals with a few butterflies sprinkled in!
I am craving those walls too!

Up for a little gardening?

Did looking at all those photos make you a bit sleepy?
Well, hop on into this heavenly bed and you'll never want to get up!

You can see more of Sussie Bell's photography by clicking

If you live in the area,
come and visit me on May 15th at the
This was advertised on the local news
so it's sure to be a big event!

~ a readers room~

One of my readers, Karin, fell in love with
this plate rack in the photo below. So, she had her husband re-create it, and look at the result!
I love this room too!
A job well done!

~where do the days go?~

I apologize for my lack of posts.

I don't know where the days go.

We have been swamped with kids' sports.

Right now we have a sport or after school activity once,

sometimes twice a day.

Today I am bringing our lab into the 1st grade class for show and tell.

That should be interesting.

Anyway, before I am off for the day, I wanted to share

with you some of my new favorite photos........

I love this last photo.

~happy May day~

My sweet sister in law brought me over huge
bunches of lilacs last night.
Next to peonies, they are my favorite.
I filled up this huge basket on my kitchen
counter and they smell heavenly!

Hope you all are having a lovely weekend!

Happy May!
